Welcome to Seedlings Pediatrics! We are is dedicated to providing nurturing, evidence-based care to children from birth to 1 year of age. Seedlings Pediatrics offers both consultation care for complex medical needs and developmental concerns, as well as primary well-baby care for families who do not have a Family Physician.

 

We are located within the Ensemble Healthcare, a multi-disciplinary clinic in northwest Calgary caring for individuals and families throughout their pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood journeys.

Seedlings Paediatrics was founded by Dr. Laine Racher. She completed medical school at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, in 2008 and then paediatric residency training at the University of Calgary in 2012. Dr. Racher is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a member of the Canadian Paediatrics Society and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary. 

 

Throughout her career Dr. Racher has had the true pleasure of caring for 1000s of newborns and their families in acute care hospitals and community based practices in both Alberta and British Columbia.  She understands the postpartum journey well and would be honoured to steward your family through the sometimes difficult first year of life.

 

In addition, Dr. Racher has also worked as a full scope pediatrician seeing children from birth to 18 years of age. She has expertise in in early identification and treatment of medical, developmental, social and mental health concerns. Through this diverse experience, she aims to assist with the holistic health of the entire family and nurture the infant-caregiver dyad. She aims to ensure families have a healthy and happy start to their journey together. She would be delighted to share her expertise and dedication with you.

Dr. Racher the proud mother of a lovely young daughter and step-mother to two fantastic adolescents. She adores spending time with her husband, children and their beloved labrador retriever. They embrace a rich outdoor lifestyle by skiing, biking, hiking, swimming and getting into nature as much as they can. They also love music and art.
